Start with a notebook or Excel spreadsheet divided into sections for Budget, Location, Raffle Items, Party Favors, Food, Beverage, Invitations, Activities, Games, and Entertainment. Even for the smallest event, having this notebook will make your job easier and it will keep all of your information in one place.

Get your event committee together and decide who will cover what duties. It is important to have good communication with all of the committee members. You should also choose only one key person that all of the final decisions will go through. This will help you avoid confusion.
